Wairarapa Wine Region

The Wairarapa wine region is New Zealand’s newest global force. Including Wellington and Martinborough, the Wairarapa region is internationally acclaimed for its Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling varieties.

As well as its award-winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Reislings, this lower North Island region turns out a popular Sauvignon Blanc variety - a nod to its distinct 'South Island' climatic conditions.

With a focus on quality over quantity, the Wairarapa wine region is just the sixth largest in New Zealand. But that hasn't stopped the area producing top quality wines worthy of numerous international accolades.

Only an hour or so from New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, the Wairarapa wine region is a popular weekend escape – offering wine tours, cellar-door tastings and fabulous café dining.
