How do you get to Takaka & Golden Bay?

  • Travel by Plane
    • Golden Bay Air, operating on an airstrip just outside of Takaka, offers regular flights to Wellington and Karamea on the West Coast.
  • Travel by Train
    • There are no train services to Takaka and Golden Bay.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Takaka can easily be reached by all major bus networks from either Motueka or Nelson. There are seasonal services operating to and from Collingwood.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • Rental vehicles can be picked up from nearby Nelson Airport, around two hours’ drive away.
