St Arnaud, an alpine village on Lake Rotoiti (“Lake Small Lake”) is the base for the Nelson Lakes National Park.  The township has petrol stations, food stores, a camp-ground, various lodges, and a water-taxi.  Follow nature trails through tranquil forest.
