How do you get to Russell & Waitangi?

  • Travel by Plane
    • Russell & Waitangi are just over one hours’ drive away from Kerikeri airport which offers regular domestic flights. Similarly, Kaitaia and Whangarei are both two hours’ drive away, both of which offer regular domestic air services.
  • Travel by Train
    • There are no train services to Russell & Waitangi.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Several bus, coach and tour operators pass through Russell & Waitangi on the way to other Northland destinations. Several also offer day trips from Auckland.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • It’s not currently possibly to hire a vehicle in Russell or Waitangi. Most people will pick up their rental car in Auckland, 3 hours’ drive away, before driving to Russell & Waitangi. Rental vehicles can also be picked up from Whangarei or Kaitaia.
