Rakaia

Salmon fishing capital of New Zealand, Rakaia is built alongside the mighty Rakaia River. The small town is known by travellers for its giant salmon sculpture on the main road but other attractions include tours of an Ostrich farm, a giant outdoor maze made from maize, a decorative potter’s studio, garden tours, and a weekly summer craft market.
