Ulva's Guided Walks Ulva Island Bird Sanctuary is a jewel in the Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island. Nature, birdwatchers and environmentally minded visitors love this area of NZ - a must see with Ulva Goodwillie, a 6th generation Islander. Ulva, who is named after the bird sancturary, is also a direct descendant of the first Maori tribes of this area - a natural history specialist guide who is universally known for her work on this Island.

October-April: 8.20am for an 8.30am departure - 12noon return 1.05pm for a 1.15pm departure - 4.30pm return May-September: 8.50am for a 9.00am departure - 12.30pm return

Ulva Island Bird Sanctuary is located in Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island. There is a 7min watertaxi ride to the bird sanctuary from Golden Bay wharf, 10min walk from the bay village of Oban/Halfmoon Bay.
