Southern Secret Doubtful Sound Experience: Space is limited to 5 couples or 12 passengers accommodated in private double or twin cabin with en-suite toilet and shower. Small size allows for more personalised experience and activities. Fishing gear provided to fish, catch crayfish and kayak from the vessel. Ample viewing spaces on the bow and top deck.
Carved by glaciers over thousands of years, the deep waters of Doubtful Sound are often calm and protected by tall mountains. While marvelling at the incredible scenery, look for dolphins, seals and penguins. Your crew will bait and check “pots” to capture Fiordland Lobster and select suitable locations for fishing to complement the evening meal or enjoy a Kayak with your fellow passengers to experience the Fiord from water level. Taste New Zealand food and relax as our crew prepares your meals and shows you around our taonga the “treasure” of Doubtful Sound / Patea.
You will be accommodated in comfort in one of the Southern Secret’s 5 private double or twin cabins with private toilet and shower en-suite; features of our spacious cabins include portholes that open, reading lights, linens, towels and soap.
What to bring: Suggestions for overnight bag include: personal items, water proof jacket, thermals, warm undergarments, change of clothes, sweater or fleece, sun cream, insect repellent, camera, snacks and beverages (alcoholic or otherwise).
Departure Details: Departs Te Anau at 9.00am (returns 12.30pm on day 2) or Manapouri at 9.40am (return 12.00pm).
Queenstown departures are an additional cost Bus departs central Queenstown at 6.55am and departs Te Anau to Queenstown at 5.00pm and arrives at 7.45pm.
Dietary requirements, medical conditions etc must be notified prior to departure.
