How do you get to Picton?

  • Travel by Plane
    • SoundsAir offers flights out of Picton and Blenheim to Wellington. Alternatively, visitors can arrive in Picton via Marlborough Airport which offers regular air services to New Zealand’s main centres.
  • Travel by Train
    • Picton is the end point of the popular Pacific Coastal rail journey, which travels from Christchurch-Picton and back daily. The train timetable is in sync with the ferry timetable enabling transfers between the two modes of transport.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Picton is well serviced by regular bus, coach and shuttle services from Christchurch and Nelson. There are also several local tour services that offer transport around the Marlborough region, to and from Picton.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • Most car and motorhome rental companies are available from Picton's ferry terminal. Often, passengers travelling with a motorhome between Wellington and Picton (or vice-versa) by ferry will need to leave their motorhome in their departure destination
