How do you get to Paihia?

  • Travel by Plane
    • Paihia is a just over an hour’s drive away from Kaitaia and Whangarei, both of which offer regular domestic air services. Or even closer, Kerikeri airport is an easy 30 minutes’ drive away.
  • Travel by Train
    • There are no train services to Paihia.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Several bus, coach and tour operators pass through Paihia on the way to other Northland destinations. Some bus companies also offer day trips to Paihia from Auckland.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • It’s not currently possibly to hire a vehicle in Paihia. Most people will pick up their rental car in Auckland, three hours’ drive away, before driving to the Paihia.
