Dominated by the conical Mount Taranaki, Egmont National Park offers endless recreation options. Competent mountain climbers can ascend the peak in good weather, while others will enjoy the park's many walks. From mountain peak to wetland to waterfall – Egmont National Park has something for everyone.

Location

Egmont National Park is located in the Taranaki region, on the North Island’s west coast.
The nearest towns are Opunake, Inglewood, Stratford and New Plymouth.
 

Getting To Egmont National Park

Egmont National Park can be accessed via Manaia Road to Dawson Falls; Egmont Road to North Egmont; or Pembroke Road to Stratford Plateau.
Several shuttle services run from Stratford, Inglewood and New Plymouth to the national park.
