Doubtful Sound

  • Travel by Plane
    • There are no commercial air services to Doubtful Sound. Te Anau Airport, which is serviced by scenic and charter flight operators, is located around 50km away. It is possible to fly over Doubtful Sound on a scenic flight.
  • Travel by Train
    • There are no train services to Doubtful Sound.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Transport between Queenstown or Invercargill and Te Anau can be easily arranged with any national or regional bus network. Tour operators then transport visitors from Te Anau to Doubtful Sound regularly.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • There are no rental car options in Doubtful Sound. However, nearby Queenstown and Dunedin both offer a wide range of rental vehicle outlets.
