Christchurch

The largest city in the South Island (and New Zealand's second largest), Christchurch is affectionately known as The Garden City.  Originally modelled on a 'little England', Christchurch's grid-like streets, ambling Avon River and sprawling Hagley Park welcome visitors year round.

Known as 'The Garden City', Christchurch's moniker is immediately apparent - particularly in spring.
