Christchurch

Dubbed 'the Garden City' for its beautiful greenspaces and gardens, Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island. Sadly, the grand heritage for which Christchurch was once known was largely destroyed in February 2011 when a major earthquake hit the city. Although many of the impressive heritage buildings have now gone, the Christchurch community is well and truly back on its feet and welcoming visitors to enjoy the numerous attractions that the city still offers.
