How do you get to Cheviot & Gore Bay?

  • Travel by Plane
    • Cheviot and Gore Bay do not have their own commercial airport. However, they can both be accessed easily with a 90 minute drive from Christchurch International Airport.
  • Travel by Train
    • There are no train services to Cheviot or Gore Bay.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Cheviot is very accessible to visitors travelling by bus, tour or shuttle bus. Many of New Zealand's national bus networks will pass through and drop/pick up passengers at Cheviot as needed. There are no public buses to Gore Bay.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • There are no car rentals available in Cheviot or Gore Bay. Most visitors will pick up their rental vehicles from either Christchurch or Picton.
