How do you get to Central Otago?

  • Travel by Plane
    • There is no commercial air access to Central Otago. However, nearby Queenstown Airport (one hours’ drive), Wanaka Airport (one hour’s drive) and Dunedin International Airport (two and a half hours away) offer a range of domestic flights.
  • Travel by Train
    • There is no train service to Central Otago.
  • Travel by Bus
    • Many major public bus, tour bus and shuttle networks offer a service to the Central Otago area from Queenstown, Christchurch or Dunedin.
  • Rent a Vehicle
    • There are no rental car options in Central Otago. A selection of car and motorhome rental outlets operate in Otago's main towns and cities. Dunedin and Queenstown offer the widest selection in the area.
