Most international visitors enter the South Island through Christchurch.

Approximately 20 minutes drive west of the central city.
Christchurch Airport Transport
Public buses run daily to and from the city, arriving half-hourly during the week and hourly on the weekend. The standard fare is $7.50 one way.
Taxi and shuttle bus stands are located outside the international and domestic terminals. Taxi fares are approximately $45 - $55. Shuttle buses $15-$30 depending on destination and the number of passengers.
Rental car company stands are located inside the terminal.
